The French legend stated that if Los Blancos had offered him to take over, he would have taken the opportunity as 'one of the biggest challenges out there'.

Zinedine Zidane is clear about something: some day, he will be coaching Real Madrid, and if that opportunity had been handed to him this summer, he wouldn't hae hesitated about taking it. The former Los Blancos player, currently coaching Real Madrid Castilla, spoke about the possibility of taking over Carlo Ancelotti's job, despite having worked with him during the 2013-2014 season as his assistant.

"Yes, I would've taken over Ancelotti's job. I am a professional and I will never turn down a challenge such as this one," Zidane revealed.

The former French midfielder also spoke about Rafael Benitez's unveiling as Los Blancos' coach for the next season, even if some sources indicate he was the man for the job.

"It wasn't meant to be right now. Florentino Pérez chose another coach and that's it. I am not disappointed by it, it's all part of a process and I believe my time will come. You don't have to go around and look for anything to happen. It will end up happpening if it's meant to be. Maybe my time will come in a few years," "Zizou" added.

Right now, the French legend revealed he will be fully focused on helping Real Madrid Castilla get promotion to the Segunda División. After one year with the team, Zidane revealed one of the most challenging aspects of his new coaching duties.

"You are all alone. Being a good player cannot guarantee you will end up getting good results. This has been the first time I've had to lead, and one thing I can tell you is that you're all alone, no one will back you up but the players, and you have to be very intelligent when you decide to talk to them," the coach concluded.
