The Real Madrid ace feels the last 8 encounter will be about more than him and his Barcelona rival.

The 2015 Copa America quarter-finals will see two of the continent's strongest teams, Argentina and Colombia, lock horns for a spot in the semi-finals.

Led by two of the world’s fiercest attacking talents, Lionel Messi of Barcelona and James Rodriguez of Real Madrid, the two nations will meet on Saturday at the Estadio Sausalito.

However, ahead of the last 8 encounter, the 23-year-old Los Cafeteros ace feels the match will be more about a clash between himself and La Pulga.

The Colombian star hailed the four-time Ballon d’Or winner, but is also confident his team can overcome the powerhouse that is La Albiceleste, with their star-studded starting eleven.

"Messi is from another planet," stated James. "He’s a unique player, but Colombia are able to play against difficult sides with great players. You can’t just talk about a James v Messi battle because it wouldn't be fair.

"If I want to be involved and there’s no space, we’ve got other players who can break through. If I can’t [find openings], the others will."

Jose Pekermen’s crew, after an impressive run in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, have yet to reach top form, qualifying from the group stage in third spot. However, according to James Rodriguez, neither has Gerardo Martino’s side, leveling out the playing field for progression.

"This Copa America is proving very tough, nobody has been good," the former Porto star added. "Only Chile, who won 5-0 against Bolivia, have been but nobody else has been outstanding.

"It’s been very equal. We’re quite clear about how good the Argentina players are, we'll both be up for it, because Colombia play well and we’ll try to do that. It’ll be a good game."
