The Argentinean superstar wants to get closer to Gabriel Batistuta as the all-time top scorer for the South American team.

Lionel Messi's season will see him reach another milestone today, when the Argentinean striker plays against Jamaica. "La Pulga" will be participating in his 100th game with his home country's National Team, with the clear goal of leading them to Copa América glory on July 4th.

Messi has scored 46 goals with La Albiceleste since he left the Under-Age categories. His debut came back in 2005, months after playing the U-20 World Cup under coach Nestor Pekerman, who decided to include him in the 23-men squad that played the 2006 World Cup.

Messi is still looking for his first trophy with Argentina, something that fans have always criticized. Even with his glorious skills, Messi has just played two championship matches with La Albiceleste: the 2007 Copa América, which they lost against Brazil, and the 2014 World Cup, giving Germany the chance to win.

With that in mind, and considering their next opponent will be Jamaica, coach Gerardo Martino's main goal for this game will be to convince his players that they have to give the best while on the pitch, since any distraction could prove too costly for them.
