A lonely goal by Sergio Aguero gives La Albiceleste three points against Los Charruas, a side that came close to tying the game in the final minnutes.

Argentina was able to hold on to an early second half lead despite Uruguay's pressure. A crucial header by Sergio "Kun" Agüero gave La Albiceleste their first win of the tournament, but it did not save them from showing a dull display for the second straight time in Chilean soil.

Gerardo Martino's team dominated the first half of the match, with Uruguay not being able to make it past their half of the pitch for several minutes. However, the Argentineans were not able to create chaos in Fernando Muslera's net. After the break, Argentina attacked via their right back, Pablo Zabaleta, who sent the ball into the box for Aguero to strike with his head.

Once Uruguay remembered how to attack, the match could have gone either way. A missed shot by Diego Rolán was the most important opportunity for Los Charrúas, who were not able to equalize despite efforts by Cavani and Abel Hernández.

With this win, Argentina is tied in first place with Paraguay, while Uruguay needs at least one point to assure their presence in the knockout stage.
