Real Madrid’s biggest signing Cristiano Ronaldo has talked about the Spanish giants’ chances of achieving success this season. Real Madrid, who broke multiple records in La Liga but got stunned in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, ended last year empty-handed despite all their efforts.

The world’s most expensive player recalled the public that Real Madrid were not tired of trying for glory as it could be read on the club’s official website:

“The goal is always the same: to win. We’ve got a very good team. I’m sure that if we work hard and have a little luck, then we’ll win a title or two this year.”

Cristiano Ronaldo featured for Real Madrid against Real Mallorca on match-day one of La Liga in a game that ended goalless at the disappointment of Barcelona’s fiercest rivals. But Ronaldo picked up an ankle injury in that encounter.

 

The star winger will now have to miss Real Madrid’s home match against Osasuna in La Liga whereas he plans to return for his side’s UEFA Champions League game against Ajax on September 15. Cristiano Ronaldo is determined to play a great part for the Spanish giants and he has underlined his ambitions as a professional, declaring:

The end of the 2010/2011 football season may see Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo celebrating as champions of one or more competitions. But for now, Los Blancos aim is to go match by match. However, the presence of Jose Mourinho – who clinched treble success with both FC Porto and Inter Milan – has lighted up the confidence of players at Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo happily revealed the trust he has in the ‘Special One’ as he stated:

“I enjoy the pace of training sessions. I love the coach’s methods and I believe that he’ll give us a good chance of winning.”

Cristiano Ronaldo also gave special praises to his fellow countryman, saying:

“He [Jose Mourinho] is one of the best managers in the world. We will do all we can to win. Mourinho is a winner. I’m proud to work for him. I’m sure that we’ll win a title this year.”

Fervent Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid fans will hope that CR9’s prediction is one that will be fulfilled. As they keep hunting for titles, Real Madrid will affront Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday when La Liga resumes this weekend.
