The Citizens are already up and planning for the next season, looking to add young talent to their squad ahead of the new campaign.

After handing over their English Premier League crown to Chelsea, in a season which saw them perform below par in the domestic and European league, the Citizens have already begun plans to rebuild their squad.

With Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini still in charge, Manchester City will be hoping to challenge the Blues next season for the title, and mount a serious push for the Champions League, and they have identified two players to help them achieve these goals.

First on their transfer wish list is Juventus’ Paul Pogba. The French midfielder has attracted a host of suitors fighting for his signature after impressing since his arrival in Turin, with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid in for the 22-year-old.

It is reported that Pogba prefers a switch to Barcelona, but the Blaugrana’s transfer ban means the Bianconeri ace will not be eligible to play until January of 2016. As a result, according to Goal, Manchester City are confident they can lure Pogba to England instead.

However, only a bid over £90m (€120m) is believed to be enough to prize Juventus of their star midfielder, a move which might be hampered by UEFA’s Financial Fair Play.

In addition to that, Pellegrini’s side are preparing to table a second bid for Liverpool ace Raheem Sterling worth £40m, with their initial £30m offer for the Englishman being turned down.

The Football Republic rate the Sterling to Man City rumors

After a stellar season at Anfield, the 20-year-old is tipped with a move away from the Merseyside club. Despite favoring Arsenal, Sterling is rumored to be open to the idea of joining the Citizens.
