'El Cholo' added Los Colchoneros will be trying to sign Argentinean Luciano Vietto from Villarreal, while Mario Mandzukic is shown the exit door.

After finishing third in La Liga just one year after being crowned Champions, Atletico Madrid's boss Diego Simeone revealed the club will try to add some talent to play up front during the upcoming transfer window. For the first time in weeks, "El Cholo" referred to Juve's striker Carlos Tevez, who could be an ideal fit for Atletico.

"One always gets excited if you have players like Tevez. More than the goals he can score per season, he has football running through his veins. It would be an ideal reinforcement considering the way we experience football at Atletico Madrid," Simeone stated about his compatriot.

During the recently concluded season, Atletico signed Antoine Griezmann, Mario Mandzukic and Mexican Raul Jimenez to try to substitute Diego Costa's influence in the team. While Griezmann led Los Colchoneros' goalscoring department with 22 goals, the Croatian striker constantly questioned the coach's decisions about his playing time which led to a falling out with the team. On the other hand, Jimenez failed to adapt to European football during his first season away from his country, managing to score only one goal. Tevez's signing could provide depth to Atletico's striking force, while making them a more versatile side with Griezmann and Torres already into the mix.

Sources in Spain claim Tevez is already taking steps towards a move to Atletico.

If Tevez's signing wasn't enough, Simeone has his eyes set on Luciano Vietto, who made an immediate impact with Villarreal. Los Colchoneros' officers and their "Yellow Submarine" counterparts are already negotiating the player's transfer, giving Simeone grounds to reveal it during the interview.

Vietto is one of our aims, and the club are close to signing him. I hope we can have him with us next season because he is a player that has extraordinary characteristics," Simeone added.

With Tevez and Vietto on board, Atletico seems set to sell Mario Mandzukic, with Manchester United as his possible destination. Regarding Jimenez, the former Club América player seems to be heading out on a loan deal with Porto.
