Coutinho scored his first international goal with Brazil. Brazil's only two shots on goal ended in the back of the net.

There was a lot of talk surrounding the fact that Brazil would face Mexico without Neymar and how that could affect the Verde Amarela. Phillippe Coutinho and Diego Tardelli made Neymar's absence look pretty insignificant. Both players scored for Brazil in the first half and Brazil set the boat on cruise control for a 2-0 win.

27 minutes into the game Coutinho ended a superb play down the left side of the field. Liverpool's midfielder used his speed to get past the defense and took a shot at goal from a very complicated angle. He did not need much space between the keeper and the post to get his shot right in the middle and into the back of the net. That was Coutinho's first goal with Brazil in seven games he has been called up for.

Only ten minutes later Tardelli would cap a very interesting collective play by the Brazilian side. Elias got rid of some defenders and the crossed to Tardelli who only had to push the ball to the back of the net for the decisive 2-0 just before halftime.

The outcome of this game extended Dunga's unbeaten streak with the Seleccao to nine wins in the same amount of games. The former player is serving his second term as the manager for the national team. Ever since Brazil lost against Netherlands in the World Cup, the five-time world champions have won all of their games.

The game could have ended a little bit differently if the referee had called for a penalty right before Brazil scored their second goal. Fillipe Luis was seen pulling Raul Jimenez inside the box but no further action was taken by the referee Julio Quintana.

Those two shots were the only ones that Brazil fired in the whole game. Mexico had a few more options, but none of them posed a major threat to Jefferson due to an outstanding job by the defense. Mexico will begin its participation in the Copa America against Bolivia and Brazil will play with Neymar against Peru.
