The Spanish manager, who was unveiled today as Real Madrid's new coach, stated that he has spoken to Carlo Ancelotti prior to taking the job with Los Blancos.

After being unveiled as Real Madrid's coach for the next three seasons, Rafa Benitez denied being worried about the great relationship his new players had with his predecessor, Carlo Ancelotti. According to Benitez, it should not represent any problem, since they are all professionals and the Italian boss is a "lovable" person.

"The players have to show love and respect for someone like Carlo. He is a great coach and a wonderful human being. I hope that, if I ever have to leave, this players show me the same love they showed for him," Benitez stated.

Ancelotti's sacking was not applauded by some of the team's leaders inside the locker room such as Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo, who used his Twitter feed to express his desire to keep working with "Carletto".

Several times during his two-year stint with Los Blancos, Real Madrid's players showed they had a wonderful relationship with the Italian manager.

After Benitez exposed why he doesn't think it will be a problem to work with all those players who praised their previous coach, he shared that he had contacted Ancelotti once he knew about Real Madrid's interest to sign him. Both coaches have referred to each other as friends, and Benitez felt that he had to speak with him out of respect.

"We have a great relationship. Both professionally and personally, I keep him up in a pedestal. I wish him well wherever he goes. I hope I can make this players shine just like they did when he coached here," Benitez added.
