The Italian midfielder, who is expected to lead Juventus' efforts for a treble this Saturday, has allegedly agreed to join David Villa and Frank Lampard in their MLS adventure.

Andrea Pirlo's days with Juve may end sooner than expected. According to sources close to negotiations, the Italian midfielder would have agreed to sign a new contract with MLS' New York City Football Club, and he would join the recently created franchise this summer, following players such as David Villa and Frank Lampard.

Recently, Pirlo denied he would be retiring at the end of this season, since he feels he still has a lot of mileage left in his boots, despite being 36 years old.

"I won't stop playing; I'll go on as long as I have the same great desire to keep training every day. Juventus will be my last Serie A team, whatever happens. MLS could be an idea, but for the moment I don't have anything; Juve are the only thing on my mind,” Pirlo stated back then.

Before Pirlo decides where he will play next season, he will play in the UEFA Champions League final, with the intention of reaching another milestone in his laureated career, which includes three World Cups, the 2006 World Cup title, three European Championship appearances, six Serie A titles, two Champions League crowns and two appearances at the Olympics.

The highly respected player hasn't made an official statement on the matter, but he does not lack offers to continue playing wherever he pleases. Added to the NYCFC offer, sources indicate Pirlo has another offer to play in Qatar and one more bid from Mexican side Querétaro, where he would join Ronaldinho.
