Both players are most likely moving somewhere else after this game. Luis Enrique claims Xavi will be irreplaceable next season.

One of the many things that the game in Berlin between Barcelona and Juventus will offer is an epic duel between two of the world's best midfielders, Xavi Hernandez and Andrea Pirlo. The two may be chasing down their last UEFA Champions League title. None of them are expected to continue with their teams next season.

Juventus' manager had kind words for both players

In Barcelona, it is a fact that Xavi will no longer be a Cule by the end of the game. The 35-year-old player has devoted his whole life to the same club and it won't be easy for him nor his team to see him go. Xavi has been a part of three of Barcelona's four UCL titles.

This season, Xavi has attempted 373 passes out of which 93% (348) of them did not miss their target. The Barcelona player leads the charts in UEFA Champions League games played with 156. His debut in Europe's finest club competition happened in 1998 against Manchester United. Xavi has scored 12 goals ever since.

Advantage Xavi

After the final whistle blows, whatever the outcome is, Xavi Hernandez will be leaving the team he grew up with. He was selected five times to the UEFA Team of the Year between 2008 and 2012. His magic is admired by many on the field and off the field. Starting next season he will take his talent to Qatar, where Al Saad is waiting for him.

Pirlo is also 35, but his future is still more uncertain. While there is one year left in his contract, he has spoken about the possibility to waive such possibility in order to end his career somewhere else. In England, teams like Chelsea and Liverpool have thought about adding Pirlo to their roster.

This may be the last time both players meet

The Italian master has won La Orejona twice and been a runner-up once. He said that he would love to end his career with Juventus on a high note, that is winning the UCL once again. Pirlo made his debut in the competition back in 1998 with Inter Milan, in a 4-0 victory over Skonto.

Juventus tactical director has been accurate in 472 (87%) out of the 544 passes he has given. He played most of his time with Milan and has a total of 114 UCL games played since his debut. He has scored eight goals and the last one came this season. Xavi is currently empty-handed in that department in this UCL season.

Buffon respects both players

Both players are really important to the generation of plays from both sides of the field. Both inspire a lot of security to their teammates and both know how important a game like the one that will be played in Berlin's Olympic Stadium is. We can be sure we are going to see something special happening between Pirlo and Xavi. This might be it for them with their current teams, but they their legacy with Barca and Juve will continue.
