The Italian striker was one of the flops of this season for the Reds, scoring only four goals in all competitions for Liverpool.

Following one of his worst seasons as a professional, Mario Balotelli will be given the benefit of the doubt by Liverpool's coach Brendan Rodgers, who seems set to keep the troublesome Italian striker for the upcoming season.

Balotelli arrived this season with the intention of filling the void left by Luis Suarez, but his performance was incredibly disappointing, scoring only four goals in all competitions and generating more attention for his actions away from the pitch rather than attracting praises for his deeds on the pitch.

With that in mind, the player's agent Mino Raiola, dismissed all rumors that placed his client away from Anfield Road, stating the former AC Milan player will not sign a new deal with other team.

"We have talks with Liverpool and he will stay. I spoke many times with the club and they were happy with his input as a professional,"Raiola stated.

Balotelli was involved in a number of controversies this season. For instance, he uploaded a picture of video game character Mario Bros and was suspended for the contents of that picture.

Using his Twitter feed, Balotelli trolled Manchester United for one of the team's losses. His comments raised criticism and even racist attacks against him.

Despite all of these incidents, Raiola dismissed the possibility of Balotelli leaving the club, hoping he can get along much better with the team's manager, Brendan Rodgers.

"I don't know if they adapted to work with each other. I think Mario did, but I can't speak for Brendan Rodgers. Obviously we're pretty confident it'll happen next season," the agent added.
