The French striker has been linked with a move away from Los Blancos for quite some time, and it seems that Arsenal's intentions to sign him are for real.

After a trophyless season for Real Madrid, it seems that some teams want to pick up the pieces that are left after this failed year for Los Blancos. Particularly, every member of the BBC attack has been linked with a move away from the team, and while Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale seem to be continuing their careers with the Spanish capital giants, Karim Benzema's future could be away from Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Sources indicate that, after many seasons trying to lure the French striker away from Los Blancos, Arsene Wenger and his team are preparing a 45 million euro bid to sign Benzema. Sources indicate the former Olympique Lyon striker would be pleased to join the Gunners, if they are able to strike a deal with his current club.

Benzema had a good run as Real Madrid's frontman alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, scoring 15 goals in 29 La Liga matches. His relationship with the team's supporters has been rather acid, with some portions criticizing him for being too "cold-blooded" and for disappearing while the team needs him the most.

Benzema's possible signing with the Gunners comes after the team's strikers were harshly criticized by fans and sports pundits. If the Frenchman joins the North London club, Olivier Giroud could be moving away from the team during this transfer season. In fact Benzema's move away from Real Madrid would be coherent with the information about Los Blancos trying to sign Manchester City's ace Sergio Aguero for 90 million euros.
