The president of UEFA admits that Ali has enough credentials to be president of FIFA. Blatter has been elected four times.

Michel Platini sits comfortably as the head of UEFA but he would not like to see Sepp Blatter continue as the president of Fifa. The former soccer player and legend with France, believes that a fifth re-election for Blatter would damage the world of soccer.

"While he remains in place, whether he likes it or not, and whether it is fair or not, Fifa will lack credibility and its image will be tarnished, and so it will lack authority," Platini said.

Platini said that he doesn't have a personal issue with Blatter continuing as the head of the International Federation of Football Associations, but that for the good of the sport, Blatter must go. The 79-year-old boss has been in charge of Fifa for 16 years.

"No, he is simply afraid of what is next because he has dedicated his life to Fifa," Platini added. "I understand the fear of emptiness that he must have as he is human. But if he really loves Fifa, he should put it before himself."

Blatter seems to have full support of five out of the six continental regions involved in the election. All African Federations involved support Blatter in his hunt for a fith term as the head of Fifa. Platini is not among those supporters of Blatter and would like to see Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein as the new president of the organization.

"I am firmly convinced that Ali, whom I have known on a personal level for years, would make a great Fifa president. He has everything it takes," Platini claimed.

The elections will occur this upcoming Wednesday, May 29.
