The Spanish boss was invited by Barcelona's execs, but he decided to stay at home and watch the game there.

It seems that Pep Guardiola doesn't want anything to do with Barcelona anymore, and he will do everything in his power to emphasize that. Earlier this week, Barc'as VP Jordi Cardoner revealed that the club would extend invitations to their former coaches to witness the Champions League final match on June 6th. Johan Cruyff, Frank Rijkaard and Guardiola were all invited, but today Guardiola respectfully declined.

"I won't accept their invitation, I'm going to stay here in Munich," Guardiola stated without any further comment. Neither Cruyff nor Rijkaard have revealed if they will accept the invitation.

Guardiola also referred to the end of what has been a very complicated season for his side. The Spanish tactician answered to all his critics for not winning the treble for the second straight year. Guardiola even challenged them to win the Bundesliga with a squad full of injuries, as he did.

"People here talk too much. They should be more respectful of the current German champion and its players. If they want a coach that wins the treble every year, I'm not the guy for the job. I'm not good enough," Guardiola answered.

Xavi was an influence for Guardiola

Finally, after speaking about how he wants his players to let themselves go and celebrate, Guardiola had some kind words for his former pupil, Xavi. The Catalunyan boss referred to Barcelona's Number 6 as one of the biggest assets in the history of the club, remembering how he influenced his coaching skills.

"We will witness one of the greatest saying good-bye. I learned a lot out of his love for the game. I hope that those who are growing up watching him can learn from what he can do on the pitch," Guardiola concluded.
