It will be Gerrard's final game at Anfield ahead of his MLS adventure. Palace beat Liverpool 3-1 in the first round of the tournament.

Steven Gerrard's farewell tour makes its last stop at Anfield before Liverpool closes its season on the road against Stoke. Gerrard made his debut playing for the Reds in 1998 and does not know what it is to play for any other club. At 34, he has decided it is time to move on and Crystal Palace may want to ruin the party.

Gerrard has already expressed that he is planning on coming back at some point to play with the team he grew up with. The only thing he did not win with Liverpool was a Premier League title. In his final season, he started in 23 games and scored eight goals in a total of 27 games played.

Chances are that Stevie G gets to start but does not play the whole game so that the crowd at Anfield, his home for almost 20 years can scream and sing for their beloved captain. His teammates hope to make it a special day for their partner with a win in his last home game.

Liverpool has been everything but consistent this year. The team managed by Brendan Rodgers can only hope for a perfect finish and a Manchester United debacle if they want to have a shot for a Champions League spot via a qualifying round. For now, it seems that the team will have to settle with a spot in the Europa League.

In their last six games, the Reds have a 2-2-2 record. They have one two of their last three games at home, the one they lost was against Manchester United 2-1. Not being able to make it to the FA Cup final was a devastating blow for the team, and then came Daniel Sturridge's season-ending injury.

Crystal Palace wants to ruin the party but doesn't have much to brag about in the past few weeks. The team has two wins and four losses in their past six games. The team has not been able to have a clean sheet in their last 12 games.

Alan Pardew has done enough work to have his team clear fron relegation zone, but a strong finish could give Pardew the homer to be called Manager of the Season. He has been able to stick in the middle of the table with a pretty limited roster compared to the one other teams have at their disposal.

His side does not have any injuries to be concerned about. Jason Puncheon should be pretty motivated for this one as he has just signed a four-year-contract extension with the team. Will the celebration at Anfield have a happy ending or will Crystal Palace cut it short?
