Schurrle played 14 games with the Blues this season before moving to Wolfsburg. He is aiming to win three titles with three different teams this year.

Andre Schurrle got a special message from the Special One when Chelsea beat Crystal Palace to win their fifth Premier League title. Schurrle moved to Wolfsburg in February after being for over a year with the team from Stamford Bridge.

The German midfielder scored three goals this season with Chelsea in the 14 games that Jose Mourinho used him. The league demands players to play at least in five games to be eligible to win a medal.

"Jose Mourinho sent me a text to say that I'd get a medal and he asked me to come to the last game. That was very nice for me."

It will be a special moment for two former Chelsea players

Schurrle is now very close to winning three titles with the same amount of teams. First came winning the World Cup with Germany and it was followed by his title with Chelsea. Next up is winning the German Cup with his current team against Borussia Dortmund on May 30.

"I'm really happy for the boys. They played a very good second half of the season so of course, for me, it's good to get a medal but the boys did the work."

The 24-year-old player said that not having a summer break did affect him when he returned to play for Chelsea the first half of the year. He felt that he needed a small break and that heading home was the best option. He was surprised to still be elegible for a medal despite leaving the season early on.

"I didn't know that I'd get a medal when I didn't play most of the second half of the season," Schurrle said. "I love Chelsea still, I'm not frustrated, it was a great experience."
