The Chilean boss could continue his stint as The Citizens' coach after Pep Guardiola rejected an offer to join the English side.

After months of rumors surrounding his future, and dismissing fans' requests to have him sacked, Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini is set to continue as Manchester City's coach. According to various sources, "El Ingeniero" will remain as the Sky Blues' boss, since some of their execs' options to take over as new Citizens manager declined to do so.

Sources indicated that Pep Guardiola held a meeting with Man City's director Txiki Begiristain, the man behind his successful seasons while coaching Barcelona. The Spanish manager was "flattered" by Manchester City's interest in having him coach the club, but he declined the offer and chose to live up to his contract with Bayern Munich.

Apparently, Guardiola was not seduced by the idea of working in the Premier League right now, since he wants a "rematch" with the Bavarian side. Guardiola won the Bundesliga for the second straight year, but his team was eliminnated in the DFB-Pokal semi-finals against Borussia Dortmund and also failed to make the UEFA Champions League final, after surrendering against Barcelona.
