The Swiss exec sparked an ongoing investigation after corruption claims were made against him following Qatar's unveiling as 2022 World Cup hosts

16 days before FIFA elects a new president, current boss Joseph Blatter is once again under the radar. According to a documentary revealed by ESPN's E:60 show, the Swiss exec, who has ruled FIFA for over 17 years, would be wary of entering the United States following bribery and corruption claims against him after awarding the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to Russia and Qatar, respectively.

After several claims around the world involving Blatter with corruption allegations, FIFA asked American attorney Michael J. Garcia to conduct and investigation about how both countries were elected as World Cup nations. Back in September, FIFA's Ethics Committee dismissed Garcia's report, which included interviews to 75 witnesses that claimed top officers were granted gifts in exchange for their votes. Garcia's investigation consisted of 200,000 pages, and FIFA decided to publish a "summary", which eliminated any evidence of wrongdoing.

The show's Twitter feed discussed a few topics concerning their findings.

As ESPN's dcoumentary exposes, sources collaborating with the FBI have revealed Blatter has avoided visiting the United States out of fear, since the Federal Bureau of Investigations has the Swiss exec on their radar since 2011. Blatter seems "unwilling" to talk about the issue, and that's the reason why he's not interested of visiting the United States.

ESPN's report also claims the FBI would be willing to call up Michael Garcia to contribute to their investigation, since his report could be key to determine how involved was Blatter in any wrongdoing. Sources indicate the "inside man" helping the FBI with this investigation would be former CONCACAF exec Chuck Blazer, who had to leave his job as Secretary General over tax fraud claims.

These documentary could represent a serious blow for Sepp Blatter's intentions of winning FIFA's election for the fifth time. The Swiss exec will face Dutch officer Michael Van Praag, Prince Ali Ben Al Hussein from Jordan and former Portuguese star Luis Figo. Voting will be held on May 29th.
