The Mexican striker could be moving back to England after a successful one-year loan with Real Madrid. The Spanish club asked for more time to make a decision regarding his buyout clause.

After a series of games in which he was key for Real Madrid's performance, Javier "Chicharito" Hernández seems to have his future away from Los Blancos. According to sources, English side Liverpool would be preparing a bid to add the Mexican striker to their squad, since his current employers have not decided whether to keep him around or let him go.

Hernandez has spent most of this season on the sidelines, but he was given the chance by Carlo Ancelotti to start in some big games for Los Blancos recently, which included the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final series against Atletico, with "Chicharito" scoring the only goal and eventually sealing the ticket for the semi-finals.

The Mexican striker played in five consecutive games, scoring four goals and dishing out three assists, putting some pressure on Carlo Ancelotti to sign the former Manchester United player for good. Real Madrid asked the Red Devils for more time in order to decide whether if they sign him or not. Furthermore, other Premier League sides such as Everton, Southampton and West Ham have shown interest in adding Hernandez to their squads.

With that in mind, Liverpool's coach Brendan Rodgers would have given the OK to start negotiations to bring Hernandez to Anfield Road. Rodgers needs to add some talent to his roster, after Fabio Borini, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have failed to impress with the Reds, and all of them could leave the club next summer.

"Chicharito" has been rather efficient while playing in both the Premier League and La Liga. The Mexican striker currently holds the third highest goal average in La Liga per minutes played, only behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. His average with Manchester United was also one of the best in the English top flight, with the fourth best average among all strikers.
