The Gunners will try to add the German and the Portuguese midfielders this summer, after a series of rumors that linked both players to the North London side in January.

Before the current season ends, Arsenal seems to be preparing for next year's quest for the Premier League. According to sources, the Gunners will finally be making a move to sign German midfielder Julian Draxler, while other reports indicate Arsene Wenger has his sight set on holding midfielder William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon. Both players have been previously linked to the team, and with the club's needs identified after a good second half of the season, their signings could be closer than ever.

In order to sign Draxler, Wenger would be preparing a £30 million offer for his services, so that other possible suitors like Manchester City and Chelsea drop out of the race to sign him. Draxler has struggled with injuries this season, participating in only 12 matches and scoring two goals, but if he can stay fit, he could provide some talent for Arsenal's attacking formation.

To balance things in the team's midfield, Wenger is looking to sign Portuguese William Carvalho. The holding midfielder has enjoyed his share of quality performances, but his latest games have not impressed Sporting Lisbon's followers. The 23-year old, who was part of Portugal's 2014 World Cup squad, could be included in a transaction that would send Joel Campbell to play in Portugal. The Costa Rican striker has failed to make an impression during his current loan spell with Villarreal, but he showed his class while playing for Olympiakos last season.
