It will be made official once he passes the medical exams next week. Liverpool and PSG had shown interest in the striker.

Memphis Depay is only a medical test away from becoming the newest member of Manchester United. The club's website announced that every side involved had agreed for Depay to leave the team where he has played all his career to join Louis van Gaal this summer in England.

Depay will be able to sign his new contract once he passes the medical exams that he will undergo next week. According to sources close to the Dutch player, it is said that the contract links him with Man United until 2019 with the option to extend it one more year. Taking him to England will cost the team around £25 to £30m.

Manchester United awaits the arrival of its newest player

The 21-year-old player scored 21 goals with his team this season. He was the league's top scorer and led PSV to win the Eredivisie for the 22nd time since the foundation of the club. Depay has scored a total of 42 goals in 104 games with the team that has seen him grow since his days in the youth academy.

The Dutch club made it official that Depay would leave the nest

"We are very proud of this upcoming transfer, which came in a huge momentum," PSV's sporting director Marcel Brands mentioned in PSV's website.

Liverpool, Paris Saint Germain and even Real Madrid had thought of signing the young star. It is said that Tottenham made a serious attempt to get him but was then turned down by the player. If everything goes according to plan, Depay will be moving to Manchester this June when the transfer window opens.

Depay comes with a lot of fire-power

Louis van Gaal gave the player his chance to debut with the Dutch National Team on October 15, 2013. Less than one year later, he played his first World Cup in Brazil where the Netherlands finished third.
