If your team-mate had just broken a horrible, five-year goal drought, one might expect you to be happy for him. Not if you are Cristiano Ronaldo, that is.
On Wednesday, Real Madrid hosted relegation-threatened side Almeria as Los Blancos looked to gain three points and keep in reach of La Liga leaders Barcelona.
Carlo Ancelotti’s crew claimed a straight forward win, coming out victorious in a 3-0 triumph. Despite the number of goals witnessed, however, 30-year-old superstar Cristiano Ronaldo failed to make the score sheet.
The three-time Ballon d’Or winner did come achingly close, that is until Alvaro Arbeloa seized the opportunity and netted his 1st goal for Real Madrid since 2010.
James Rodriguez opened the scoring with a wonder volley, an Almeria own goal followed, and with five minutes remaining on the clock, Chicharito delivered a classy cross that needed a simple tap-in.
On track to scoring his 40th goal of the season, the Spanish defender beat the Portuguese ace to it and calmly found the back of the net. Ronaldo was not too happy about this, shooting the ball back into the net in frustration and anger. Watch his reaction below.
Ronaldo angry to see Arbeloa score instead of him
And Twitter was not too impressed by the Portuguese attacker's antics
Was at the game so have only just seen the Ronaldo reaction after Arbeloa's goal. He doesn't do himself any favours...

Ronaldo is a disgrace. Didn't celebrate with Arbeloa because he wanted the goal.. This guy man. No respect for that!

Arbeloa robs Cristiano Ronaldo of his tap-in and the guy kicks the ball in frustration. Why is it so hard to like the man I wonder.

Never seen Messi look so stroppy at other teammates scoring goals because he didn't score himself. Ronaldo needs to sort himself out.

In his defense, though, he is in a race for the Golden Boot with some man called Lionel Messi.
After the game, Arbeloa admitted he was not surprised by Ronaldo’s actions, claiming to understand the reason behind his reaction.
"I'm not upset about Ronaldo's reaction after my goal," Arbeloa stated. "It just shows you his ambition to score. No one can be upset about that. He's fighting with Leo Messi for the Pichichi."
