Guardiola continues his perfect streak in UCL quarterfInals. Porto had not lost a game this season in the European competition.

It seemed almost impossible to think that Bayern Munich would recover from a 3-1 against FC Porto in the first leg. Locker room problems with the medical staff and a limited roster to face so many games in a short amount of time made it seem impossible for the German side to move on.

In a matter of 45 minutes at Alianz Arena, the world witnessed how Pep Guardiola's team turned things around and gave Bayern a five-goal lead in the game and a 6-3 lead in the aggregate. That first'half was not even predicted in Guardiola's gameplan.

"It's easy to love my players now. I am the coach of extraordinary players. I didn't expect such a first half."

The intensity in the second half was way lower than how it all began. Bayern knew that now they were in control and they did not see how Porto could even close the gap again. Bayern's players were even thrilled with how things played out.

"Many people thought we couldn't do it, but we are FC Bayern Munich," Lewandowski said after the game.

Guardiola was not counting himself out of the competition either after the first leg. For the 44-year-old manager, it was just a matter of going back to the basics and working in a similar way to how he did in Cataluña.

"It is about winning just like at Barcelona," Guardiola said. "Now we have to fight otherwise we will not achieve what we set out to do."

Porto was expecting to make it to the semi-finals of the tournament for the first time since 2004. They were confident on stunning the Bavaric team at its own house knowing they were undefeated in this year's Champions League.

During the week in between the first and second leg of the quarter-finals, Pep was able to study a team he barely knew anything about. Even after such a merciless result, it was not a Perfect game for the Spanish manager.

"We can still play better. We lost the ball here and there and we can improve on that."

Now Guardiola and his team will have to wait and see who their upcoming rival is. Last year they were knocked out of the semi-final by Real Madrid. They will know their answer this Friday 24 during the Semi-Final draw.
