Today the world of football remembers the 26th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster. 96 people lost their lives that day and this Wednesday morning some Liverpool football players paid tribute to the victims of that tragic day.
Philippe Coutinho posted a picture on his Instagram profile with the names of all the victims. Daniel Sturridge did the same and on both pictures, the names come inside the number of 96.

Jose Enrique also posted a picture on the social media site of a boy with a Liverpool jersey at the Liverpool memorial for the victims of that tragic date. Captain Steven Gerrard, uploaded a similar picture of the site where the name of family member appears. Mario Balotelli did the same thing as Stevie G.

It wasn’t only current Liverpool players who paid tribute to the victims. Reds' fans including tennis superstar Caroline Wozniacki also took a moment to remember the victims. The list of stars and clubs who remembered the importance of this day 26 years ago just goes on and on.
This is Wozniacki's post on InstagramThere will be a ceremony taking place at Anfield later today. The reason, to remember what happened at Hillsborough on April 15, 1989, 96 fans went to but none of them were able to come back.
