It had been a while since Ancelotti could have all his 23 players practicing together. Fabio Coentrao and Sami Khedira have recovered from their injuries.

Every single player of Real Madrid’s first team participated in Monday’s practice at Valdebebas prior to their game against Atletico this Tuesday. This was the first time in a very long time that Carlo Ancelotti could practice with all his 23 players.

No one did separate work this time. Gareth Bale had his second day of full practice with the team after missing out on the game against Eibar. The Welshman had a problem on his foot that he seems to have recovered by now.

Players seemed to be relaxed and focused during training on Monday

The biggest surprises were seeing Fabio Coentrao and Sami Khedira back training with the team. Both players had been absent from duties with the first team for a long time. They also seem to have recovered from their injuries and ready for what could be their last games with Los Merengues.

After practice was over, the Italian manager gave his remarks about what he had seen in the usual press conference that follows training sessions. This was their last one ahead of their Champions League quarterfinal game.

Madrid is confident of coming out with a postive result against AtleticoMadrid trains ahead of match with Atltetico

“Gareth Bale is in good conditions. The whole squad is available and tomorrow I will give the starting XI,” Carletto said. “I see the team well, with a lot of confidence. We arrive to this match in good shape.”

Ancelotti felt that the keys for his team to avoid failure at El Calderon would be to make good use of their strengths. Using the speed that characterizes his team and the individual skill of his players can be crucial to beat Los Colchoneros.

Marcelo was alongside Ancelotti at the press conference. He has played every game this season and remembers very well what happened between both teams in last year’s UCL final at Lisbon.

“A lot has changed since last year’s final. We have two tough games ahead,” Marcelo claimed.
