The Spanish international felt the Portuguese reacted the way he did in 'the heat of the moment', even though it's not the first time he celebrates in such fashion.

While attending a foundation's event, Barcelona's center back Gerard Pique dismissed the chance Cristiano Ronaldo will be sanctioned after his gesture against Rayo Vallecano. The Portuguese player was mad at the game's referees after being booked for "diving", and looked at the linesman mumbling a few words disapproving his previous decisions

"That's the way he is and sometimes he expresses himself and reacts like that. It's not the first time he's made that gesture. He's never been punished for it before and I don't think he will be now. It was in the heat of the moment, but it's not my problem anyway," Pique said.

Barcelona's Number 3 stated his team-mates have to be patient in these final moments of the league, since every match will be as important as the next. Furthermore, he recognized this title race will be one of the most complicated in recent times, due to Real Madrid's heavy opposition.

"I've always said that April was going to be an extremely difficult month. The important thing is to finish it the way we've started. By that I mean still being in the Champions League and top of La Liga. It's going to be hard and I don't think anyone is going to win all of their points in the league. We saw last year that points get dropped in the final games," he concluded.

Barcelona will play against Sevilla on Saturday evening for their 31st fixture of La Liga.
