Arsene Wenger's side is living one of the best moments of the season, and he believes one of the key figures to their recent success is none other than Mesu Özil. In an interview with the Gunners' website, the French manager praised the former Real Madrid player for his disposition on the pitch, while showing great class when handling the ball. His skills, Wenger said, make his team a much better one.

"What he does is always classy, intelligent and the timing of his passes is absolutely fantastic. He's agile, flexible and always available in between the lines," Wenger stated. "He's sometimes criticised because of his physical challenges but I believe he's on the way and is improving on that at the moment. He makes a big effort to work hard and be disciplined for the team."

The French manager also stated that he decided to substitute Özil with 25 minutes to go since he thought the player could be in danger of picking up another injury.

"Alexis played two games with Chile, Ozil played two games with Germany and I could see that their legs had gone a little bit with 25 minutes to go. I had a decision to make between him or Ozil and I subbed Ozil because I felt he was in danger of being injured. Alexis did fight very hard until the end," Wenger concluded.
