After scoring one goal and giving two assists in Real Madrid’s historic 9-1 win against Granada, Gareth Bale may rest in the upcoming game against Rayo Vallecano. The Welshman is injured with not much time left before kickoff.
Carlo Ancelotti has not yet revealed his starting XI of their upcoming game this Wednesday. He did reveal that Bale might not be fit enough to start or even play.
“We have had a problem. He has a knock that needs to be looked at," Ancelotti mentioned.
The Italian manager had previously said that if Benzema, Cristiano and Bale were fit to play, he would not hesitate on playing them together. As the medical staff looks into Bale’s problem, Ancelotti may have to look at other options.
The 55-year-old manager considers he has the best roster in the world“It's not a debate between choosing
The coach that is leading Madrid for a second
“Nearly all the players are on great form and I have to choose from them. It's a lovely problem to have."
Trying to choose who would play in Bale’s spot if the 25-year-old midfielder doesn’t recover by the time the game starts is his biggest challenge. At the same time, Ancelotti considers that any of his options will be able to get the job done.
“It's difficult to say which player is better. I can only say that I have two players of very high quality that can play in various positions on the pitch.“
Now it’s time to wait and see if Madrid can count on Bale. A player many fans wanted to be dropped from the starting formation a long time ago.
