Marco Reus had a good game for Germany, despite the team's struggles after their World Cup Championship. Borussia Dortmund's wingman scored the first goal of the evening at Fritz-Walter Stadion after 17 minutes, but the German side was equalized before the first half ended, via a goal by James Troisi. After the break, the Socceroos took the lead with a free kick goal by Miles Jedinak, only to lose the lead during the final minutes of the game after Lukas Podolski's goal.
Reus was not able to play for Germany during the past World Cup after coming down with an ankle injury, and just when he seemed to be fit to play, he came down with another injury which prevented him of adding more goals to his National Team history. Reus' most recent goal with Die Mannschaft goes back to March 26, 2013, when he scored a brace against Kazakhstan.
Fans were pleased by the German international's display, and could rest easy after Reus came off the pitch without any injuries this time. Watch Reus' goal and what fans had to say about it by scrolling down!
