The Argentinian superstar scored a penalty and a header against Eibar, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo's total of 30 goals in the 2014-15 season.

Lionel Messi took the top of the goalscoring table after scoring another brace against Eibar. "La Pulga" scored his first goal after a controversial handball inside Eibar's box, while his second goal of the evening came in the second half with a rather impressive header. This was his first headed goal off a corner kick for the Argentinian this season.

Messi's form this season has been constantly changing for the best. Right now, Messi has scored more goals than any other player in Europe's top five leagues. Considering every competition, the Argentinian has scored 42 goals and has served his team-mates with 20 assists.  His performance has led Los Blaugranas into reaching 65 points, reclaiming the first spot in La Liga's standings since October.
