The Brazilian defender left the pitch following his awful blow to Abraham, who was rushed to the hospital as a precaution. Los Colchoneros & Los Periquitos tied 0-0.

During the Spanish League match between Espanyol and Atletico, Joao Miranda took center stage in the worst way possible. Before the first half ended, the Brazilian defender looked for a lobbed ball, but when he went up, he threw his elbow at Espanyol's midfielder Abraham. The player was immediately sent off by referee Vicandi Garrido, but his actions were criticized by fans and media.

Before the game ended, Espanyol's doctors revealed that Abraham was rushed to the hospital to prevent any damage. The player will remain under medical surveillance at least for the rest of the day.

The game ended with a 0-0 score, relegating Atletico to the fourth spot in La Liga.

Of course, fans and experts were not indifferent to this harsh tackle. Find out what they thought about the Brazilian's awful display.

"The red card for Miranda, deserved. Atletico now with ten. And now, it's a turning point. PSG showed that you can make things happen with ten players. No excuses."

Miranda blasts Abraham, blasts the game, blasts Atletico. He's playing for the player he once was, not for what he's doing today. Awful season.

"Atletico is not a harsh team, no way! Miranda just caressed the player with his elbow, it was a lovely gesture"

"Miranda's stupidity will make him lose his starting spot to Gimenez. And it will surely cost Atletico the game"
