The Barcelona striker has opened up about his frustrations with the British media after reports of another biting controversy involving the Uruguayan hit the headlines.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has struck back at the British press for what he argues is an unfair portrayal of him in the media, claiming they miss him, eight months after swapping the English Premier League for La Liga.

These comments by the former Liverpool man, who left Anfield for Camp Nou last July, was accused of yet another biting felony, this time on Manchester City's Martin Demichelis.

Images emerged on social media, before making the headlines, apparently showing the Uruguayan laying his teeth into the Argentine defender during the Blaugrana's Champions League clash with the Citizens.

"I do not know whether the British press have something against me, but they do seem to miss me," Suarez said.

"They criticise me a lot and are always looking for things to attract attention. They published a picture of me supposedly biting Demichelis, but these images then disappeared when they realised it was fake...

"That was when I said it was enough and to leave me alone. It is tiresome, but they keep looking for something."

Suarez, who after a mega-money move to the Catalan giants, endured a slow start to life at Barcelona. Currently in fine goalscoring form, with 13 goals in 26 appearances to his name in all competitions, he claims his struggles early on in the season did not have him worried

"I am very happy at Barca, it was a dream come true to play for the best team in the world. I am playing my part and that makes me relax and feel important," he added.

"There was a period when I created chances, but failed to score. That did not worry me, though. I am very critical of my own performances, especially when I saw I did not contribute with goals and assists. But I did help the team when I didn't score and I always felt important."
