The Reds have lost just once in their last ten matches in all competitions and will be hoping to continue their good run when they face Blackburn in the FA Cup. Rodgers' men clinched a place in the Quarter Final of the competition with a win over Crystal Palace. Liverpool conceded the first goal in the match with Fraizer Campbell getting on the score sheet in the early minutes but the Reds responded through Sturridge and Lallana to secure the win.
Liverpool have been very impressive in league outings as well and following their win over Man City, the Reds secured a comfortable victory over Burnley last time out. Jordan Henderson was on the score sheet in both the matches and converted his chances with aplomb. The former Sunderland man is expected to take the captain's arm band from the departing Steven Gerrard on a permanent basis from next season. This has resulted in a heap of expectations from Henderson who is viewed by many as the person who will replace Liverpool's talismanic midfielder.
Brendan Rodgers however has rubbished any comparisons and has stressed that the 24 year old is a different player than Gerrard.
"Jordan is a young guy who is a wonderful talent but he is a different type of player," said Rodgers.
"Just because he takes a corner and Steven Gerrard takes a corner, or because he shoots from outside the box and so does Steven, it doesn't mean he is the new Steven Gerrard.
"He is Jordan Henderson and he is creating his own career and headlines."
The Northern Irishman further issued a warning to Steven Gerrard claiming that he does not have a guaranteed place in the starting lineup.
"There is no-one in the squad who has a God-given right to walk straight into the team," said Rodgers.
"I have shown in my time here that players who are performing well, irrespective of price or status, they play - simple as that.
"Steven is very much a team man and if he was on the bench because the team was in good form and playing well, I think everyone respects that."
Blackburn have managed just a single victory in their last five matches but will be in a buoyant mood having already knocked out two Premier League teams in the competition including Swansea and Stoke.
However taking Liverpool's recent form into account, Rovers have a momentous task at hand to get the better of the Reds. They will be relying on Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede to produce the goods with the duo having scored 28 goals between them in all competitions.
They will however be without their hat-trick hero Josh King who scored thrice as Blackburn thrashed Stoke 4-1.
