The defender had just scored a similar goal against VfB Stuttgart from over 30-yards out but placed it in the same exact spot. Probably goalkeepers might want to take notes after this one.

After his goal against Stuttgart, he told the media that it was not just luck what was involved, For Alaba, it is all about constant practice and knowing it won’t always go as expected.

“I’ve been practicing free kicks since I was 15,” the 22-year-old player said, “Around 25 to 30 meters out is the ideal distance for my free-kicks.”

His shot did not give Braunschweig’s goalkeeper any chances of reaching it as it was perfectly placed. It gave his team a reason to celebrate before halftime plus the total control of the game. Bayern had 23 shots and six on goal during the game.

Gotze’s goal came 12 minutes into the second half from the center of the box into the center of the goal, assisted by Arjen Robben. Robben had actually received the foul that created the opportunity for Alaba’s free kick.
