English Premier League Side Arsenal Mocked By Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho

Angela Asante, August 25 2010,
Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers will meet on match-day three of the English Premier League as the season continues. But Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho has opened flames with his harsh comments against Arsenal’s English Premier League title aspirations.

Jose Mourinho laughs

The former Chelsea manager, who built a great rivalry against Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, wasn’t impressed by the Gunners’ 6-0 whipping of Blackpool last weekend. Jose Mourinho sees Arsenal as ‘Premier League write-offs’ and cup pretenders instead of genuine contenders. He told English media The Sun:

“Year after year, it looks like [they will win the EPL], but no… it looks like, but no. Always the same type of comments, ‘It’s a young team’, ‘it will be next season, it will be next season’.

“It’s fantastic for Arsene that he signed a new contract. I remember when we [Chelsea] played them in a Carling Cup semi-final, and they played the team of young boys.

"The team of young boys is not the team of young boys now. They are a team of 25, 26, 27-year-olds. So Fabregas, Walcott, Clichy, Song, and Sagna aren’t kids. They are a team old enough to win things.”

Predicting over the race for the 2010/2011 English Premier League title, Jose Mourinho said as he wrote off Arsenal’s challenge:

“I think it will again be Manchester United, Chelsea, and of course, Man City because they have a great squad. I believe Chelsea, United, and City… that it is for the title.”

Beating Blackburn Rovers will help Arsenal prove Jose Mourinho wrong with an early response to his angering comments.
