The Spanish manager won his first title with the Bavarian team in his first season. His contract expires in 2016.

Pep Guardiola just announced that he would stay with Bayern Munich longer than expected and that Manuel Pellegrini shouldn’t worry about him taking over next season. The Spanish manager has a contract with Bayern Munich until 2016.

“I have a contract with this wonderful club and aim to fulfill that. I have not received any offers,” Guardiola said.

After winning it all with Barcelona in his first stint as a professional coach, Bayern was his next challenge and he is doing well. The 44-year-old manager won the Bundesliga just after one season with the Bavarian team.

“We will see what happens after next year, I am very happy at Bayern,” Guardiola added.

At the beginning of February, Pep reportedly received an offer to coach Qatar at the 2022 World Cup. While he has not yet responded, he is most likely to take it due to his past as a player with Al Alhi and his support for the country to host the event.

In the meantime, Guardiola has not denied the possibility of coaching an English Premier League team. For many, Manchester City seems like the perfect fit. News outlets in England speculate that if Pellegrini doesn’t lift a trophy with the Citizens this season, his time at Manchester could run out.

“When I signed my contract, nobody told me about winning five titles in five years. That was what Ferran Soriano said [to the media],” Pellegrini said.

The Chilean manager will have to overcome a 2-1 deficit against Barcelona in the Champions League Round to at least continue with a chance to win the tournament. Manchester City is currently 5 points behind Chelsea in the EPL.

Bayern Munich leads the standings in the Bundesliga by eight points ahead of Wolfsburg. The German team tied with Shakhtar Donetsk in the first leg of their UCL Round of 16 matchup (0-0).
