Thirteenth placed FC Köln will head to Bavaria to take on the team at the top of the table, Bayern. In the Bundesliga, after an edgy start following the winter break, Bayern have found their footing. Yet, while those results are ones to be proud of, Bayern's tie in the UEFA Champions League is anything but settled against Shakhtar Donetsk following a 0-0 draw in Ukraine. As far as the Bundesliga is concerned, although they have not yet wrapped up the title race, Wolfsburg must continue winning to keep up with them and at least maintain the eight point gap; their winning run might come to an end before Bayern's does.
Mehdi Benatia is out for the Bavarians. Thiago Alcantara, Philipp Lahm and Javier Martinez are working hard to be match fit. For Köln, Patrick Helmes and Yannick Gerhardt are out. The Billy Goats' record at the Allianz Arena is quite good compared to other sides; they have won one match and drawn three there. Their only loss came in their previous visit, when they were overturned, 3-0.
