Both the sides will be looking for their fifth league cup title when they meet at Wembley on Sunday. Whereas Chelsea had no engagements during the midweek, Tottenham were involved in a Europa League encounter against Fiorentina a match they lost by a 2-0 score line which resulted in them being knocked out of the competition.

Chelsea loanee Mohamed Salah was among the scorers for the home side who made it to the next round of the competition at the expense of the North London side. Chelsea on the other hand were unable to materialise from an easy fixture last weekend as their encounter against Burnley ended in a 1-1 draw.

However a bigger blow to Jose Mourinho's side was a red card to star man Nemanja Matic which means that the Serbian will not be able to play a part in the Cup final. Tottenham ran rampant when the two sides met last time in an eight goal thriller.

It was a match characterised by brilliance from star man Harry Kane who scored twice as Spurs picked up a 5-3 win over their London rivals.

But Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has claimed that he will have no fears when facing Tottenham on Sunday despite having suffered a heavy defeat.

"I think the home game, at the beginning they had two or three chances," he said at the club's training complex. "After that we took over and won the match comfortably.

"There [at White Hart Lane], we took the lead but, after that, forgot to finish the game and they won it 5-3. But now a final is a different game. It's nothing to do with the league."

The biggest threat to Courtois's goal will be the presence of the man in form Harry Kane who has been enjoying a stellar season. The Englishman has scored 22 goals this season in all competitions but the Belgian goalkeeper is confident he can restrict the threat posed by him having studied him thoroughly.

"With all the videos and images you can watch nowadays, you try and analyse what they're like more and more," he said. "But football is football and every game is different. Every time it can be different."
