The Dutch striker left Liberty Stadium on crutches last Saturday after being forced to continue playing, since Man United had used all three substitutions.

Manchester United's "dream" lineup did not last long for Louis Van Gaal, since Dutch striker Robin Van Persie was confirmed to have come down with an injury, during last Saturday's match against Swansea. Sources indicate RVP will be out for at least a month, after damaging his right ankle's ligaments.

Van Persie came down with this injury all by himself, after sending a cross into Swansea's box and falling on his foot awkwardly. This is not the first time United's top scorer will be out of commission with injuries this season, having returned recently to the Red Devils' lineup. The player was forced to remain on the pitch, since Manchester United had used all three substitutions.

The Dutch striker left Liberty Stadium last Saturday on crutches, which were believed to be just a precaution.

To much of Van Gaal's dismay, Van Persie may end up being unavailable for the team's five upcoming matches, including clashes against Newcastle (March 4), Arsenal(March 9), and Liverpool (March 22). The Dutch's place in Van Gaal's lineup might be decided between James Wilson and Radamel Falcao.
