The fan apparently criticized Neymar for diving. Both discussed in Portuguese after the game ended.

Neymar Jr. spent the last 10 minutes of the game between Barcelona and Manchester City in the bench just listening to a fan mock him about diving. After the game, the Brazilian star confronted the Man City fan and on Wednesday, the English club announced it decided not to report the incident to UEFA.

“What he told me? I can not repeat it, no,” Neymar told media after the game. “What his mother did not tell him, my mother taught me.”

The fan’s name has not been revealed. All that is known about him is that he was wearing a replica Yaya Toure shirt with the number 42 on the back. One the game was over and they confronted each other, a steward stepped in the middle of the action to keep them away from each other.

That did not seem to calm things down until another security official stepped in. He told both (Neymar and fan) to stop their discussion and that’s exactly what happened.

Throughout the match, the 23-year-old player only had one clear chance at scoring in the 12th minute of the game. It happened right before Luis Suarez scored his first, out of the two goals of the night.

Match officials did not see the incident, so it was up to the Citizens to decide if they would file a report with UEFA. After they decided not to do so, it is only up to Luis Enrique to decide if Barcelona’s striker will play in the next 90 minutes of this matchup where Barcelona holds a 2-1 lead.
