A FIFA task force will recommend the tournament to be held in the year's final months, rather than exposing fans to complicated weathe conditions.

As most experts expected, FIFA's officers will propose the 2022 World Cup to be played in the months of November and December, given the complications of playing during summer time due to the extreme weather conditions in Qatar. The tournament's committee will hold a meeting next March 19, where this measure is most likely to be made official.

FIFA vicepresident Jim Boyce told the press that this measure will have enough time to be embraced by most European leagues, which are still trying to change the tournament's venue to avoid disruption to the usual calendar.

"A tournament in November and December will cause a lot of disruption, but it is eight years away and people should have enough time to make it work," Boyce stated

Now, one of the main concerns about the tournament being held during the final months of the year will be when the final match will be played, since the plans would require the final game to be held in December 23.

That's the only reservation I would have and I would like it a week earlier, but I want to wait until the Fifa executive committee meeting to hear all the details about the dates," Boyce added.

Other officers like Karl-Heinz Rummenigge will ask FIFA to redeem European clubs that loan their players for the tournament, since it will come when most leagues are being disputed.

"For the football family the rescheduling of the World Cup presents a difficult and challenging task. However, the European clubs and leagues cannot be expected to bear the costs for such rescheduling. We expect the clubs to be compensated for the damage that a final decision would cause," Rummenigge added.
