The 28-year-old player is on a one-year lease with Portugal's Sporting. It is his eighth goal of the season.

If Luis Carlos Almeida da Cunha, better known as Nani, wanted Manchester United to feel bad about letting him go last summer, he just hit the nail on the head. The Portuguese midfielder scored an amazing goal in Sporting’s 2-0 win over Gil Vicente on Sunday.

The game was already in Sporting’s control with just over 30 minutes to go. It was the former Red Devil who would seal the deal. The ball bounced once 30-yards away from the net and Nani did not hesitate on shooting. He let it rip from the right side of the field into the top-right corner of the goal.

That was Nani’s eighth goal this season with the team he became a professional even before his seven-year stint with Man United. It is without a doubt his best one so far. In his last two seasons in England, the 28-year-old player only scored four times.

His loan with the Portuguese side is set to expire at the end of the season. While Louis van Gaal let him go, he might not be eager to see him outside from Old Trafford any longer. After seeing such an amazing goal, it is not hard to predict LVG should write down Nani’s name down in Man United’s upcoming season’s plan.

Sporting Lisbon currently sits in third place in the Primeira Liga standings with 47 points after 22 games. It is Benfica who holds the lead with 56 units.
