The Blues were ahead thanks to Ivanovic's strike, but Ben Mee's header gave Burnley a much deserved point

Chelsea lost a 1-0 lead against Burnley in the final minutes of the game, after a header by Ben Mee found the way into the back of the net. The Blues lost a chance to keep their distance with second place Manchester City, while Burnley still occupy relegation spots, but their prospects improve after equalizing with the league leaders.

The Blues started off with a bang, scoring after 14 minutes. Eden Hazard created a magnificent dribble, just to dish away an assist for Branislav Ivanovic, who scored his 31st goal for the Blues. After Chelsea's goal, Ivanovic was involved in a controversial play, when he took a shot from outside the box, just to have it handballed by one of Burnley's defenders, but ref Martin Atkinson refused to give away the penalty kick. Minutes later, Diego Costa was brought down inside the box, but then again the game's officer denied Mourinho's crew a chance to hit the ball from the spot.

The game remained in control for Chelsea, but Nemanja Matic's red card complicated things for the hosts. Minutes later, Thibaut Courtois failed to clear a corner kick, which was headed by Ben Mee into the back of the net.
