The Gunners can break in the top four by the end of the week should other results during the weekend go in their favour. Apart from their loss against Tottenham, Arsene Wenger's men have been relatively comfortable in their recent endeavours and will be hoping to build up momentum before their midweek Champions League tie against Monaco.
They were against Middlesbrough last time out in the FA Cup, a match they won by a 2-0 score line thanks to a brace from Olivier Giroud. Jack Wilshere might be available for selection during the game against Crystal Palace, which means that manager Arsene Wenger will have a luxury of attacking options to choose from.
The Frenchman has hailed his attacking unit and has claimed that it is one of the best offensive forces he has had in recent years.
"A prolific Premier League attack should score between 70 to 100 goals in a season. We are not there yet, but this attack is our best since Thierry Henry's days," Wenger said.
"This one has the most potential since Thierry's time and this weekend is the first time we have been able to line them up all together, so we are yet to see what they are capable of achieving.
"Giroud's style is less elegant than strikers before him like Robin van Persie, but he has progressed a lot and he is now a complete striker because he has added decisive passes to his game. He works for the team more than most players who contribute that many goals."
Palace on the other hand sit comfortably in the 13th place in the Barclays Premier League table. The Eagles have done well under the tutelage of manager Alan Padrew and will be hoping to continue their good run which has seen them lose in the last five games only to merseyside outfits Liverpool and Everton.
However they have a few concerns for the game during the weekend with Mile Jedinak a doubt for the match having picked up a knock. James McArthur (thigh) and Jonathan Williams (groin) are also unlikely to play a part in the match against Arsenal whereas Yaya Sanogo will be ineligible to play against his former club.
Arsenal will have the likes of Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain available for selection which will allow Wenger to rotate his squad ahead of the Champions League game. Aaron Ramsey however has been ruled out with a hamstring injury whereas long term absentees Mikel Arteta (ankle) and Mathieu Debuchy (shoulder) will also remain on the sidelines.
