Two of the most important sides in Mexican football will face each other on Saturday, with one of them in serious jeopardy of being relegated. Current Liga MX leaders Cruz Azul will host Guadalajara in the seventh week of the Mexican Clausura 2015 tournament.

Cruz Azul lead the pack after six weeks, showing impressive defensive skills, but they are far away of making an impression on the other side of the pitch. The men coached by Luis Fernando Tena are yet to concede one goal playing at Estadio Azul, and had their goal-less streak snapped last week by Ronaldinho's Queretaro. In order to keep their place as Liga MX rulers, La Maquina will depend highly on what goalkeeper Jesus Corona can do. Furthermore, playmaking specialist Christian "Chaco" Gimenez will remain a driving force in Cruz Azul's attack, aided by recent signing "Alemao", with both men creating most of the team's options up front.

On the other side of the pitch, Guadalajara will try to show something more than what they have displayed recently, in order to win this game and more importantly, to avoid relegation. Even though Universidad Guadalajara are dead last in the relegation standings, Las Chivas have been struggling to show their class under former El Tri coach Jose Manuel de la Torre, which has not allowed the club to forget their complicated agenda. If Chivas lose this game, combined with a victory by Leones Negros, then Chivas will be sent down to the last spot in the relegation board. To avoid that, De la Torre will rely heavily on what veteran Carlos Salcido can do to stop Cruz Azul's strikers, while they set their hopes on Omar Bravo for goalscoring duties.

La Maquina has to be named as the probable winner, since their recent record at home reveals that Luis Fernando Tena's men have won five out of their last six games while playing at their home turf. On the other hand, Guadalajara has not won a match played at Estadio Azul since 2008, and with their current predicament, it seems unlikely for them to change their recent history.
