The Argentinian star revealed he had issues in and off the field. Claims that Barcelona's chemistry couldn't be better.

Lionel Messi admits that the 2013-2014 season was far from what he expected. Starting this year, the Argentinian striker is showing the world what they’ve been missing.

“I knew it hadn’t been a great year, where I had a lot of problems on and off the pitch,” Messi said after Barcelona failed to win La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League.

Probably, the hardest hit for the four-time Ballon d’Or winner was losing against Germany in the World Cup final. Argentina wanted revenge after losing the tournament's final against the same team back in Italy 1990.

“It was a challenge to change the whole image I had projected last season. And to get back what it was in previous years,” Leo admitted in an interview with Leo World.

When Barcelona switched managers at the end of last season, there were rumors that those in Barcelona’s locker room were not getting along so well. Today, according to Messi, the chemistry in the team has never been better.

Things seem to work again for Luis Enrique's team this 2015Messi says the chemistry within Barcelona has never been better“Everything is together. The team is confident and there is a change in our attitude and desire, and that has gotten us where we are today,” he added.

As the season just reached its halfway mark, Messi knows there is still lots of ground to cover in every competition they are involved. One of their main goals is to make it to the final in Europe’s finest clubs competition.

“We have to guarantee our place in the Cup final as well. We have to go on to meet our objectives,” Messi said, acknowledging that Manchester City won’t be an easy team to beat in the Round of 16.
