The spending limit for the Red Devils is expected to increase. Ticket prices are not expected to drop.

The day the Premier League signed their £5.136 billion television deal with Sky Sports and BT was the day Manchester United was hoping for. This in order to help their chances of bringing big names to Old Trafford.

Fans are most likely not pleased with their team this season. They are currently behind Chelsea and Manchester City. This Monday, with a loss against Preston in the FA Cup, they would no longer have a chance for a title this season.

Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao came in as the two biggest additions to the club. Di Maria will most likely stay, but Falcao walks on thin ice every week as his loan will expire by the end of the season.

Here is the good news. With the multi-billion-dollar deal, the spending limit that van Gaal has will be higher than it was last summer. While Bale was seen as a very expensive option with the previous limitations, now he should be within the value Man United is willing to pay for the midfielder.

Manchester United could have the economic power to bring more big names to Old Trafford, a place where fans have not had much to cheer about lately. Ever since Alex Ferguson left, things have been everything but stable.

They could compete toe-to-toe with Real Madrid. The Spanish team has taken advantage of the English club’s limitations over the years. Stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy have migrated from the Red Devils to play for Los Merengues.

While their goalkeeper David de Gea was next on that list, the financial growth that Manchester United could experience will not make it easy for the Spaniard to leave. Manchester is currently second in the list of the world’s richest clubs, just ahead of Barcelona but behind Madrid.
