The Argentinian superstar scored the 23rd hat-trick of his career against Levante, leading Barcelona to its eleventh consecutive victory.

Lionel Messi had one more amazing night with Barcelona, leading his team to a comfortable 5-0 win against Levante. Messi scored the 23rd hat-trick of his career playing in La Liga, and his 34th considering all competitions.

Messi participated in four of his team's goals, assisting Neymar's opener after 17 minutes. His first goal of the evening came during the 38th minute mark, taking full advantage of a pass by Marc Bartra, who stole the ball when Levante were preparing a fast break.

Messi's show continued after halftime, this time just tapping the ball into Diego Mariño's net after a pass by Pedro. Then, the game's referee awarded Barcelona a penalty kick following a hard tackle on Neymar. The Argentinian took the ball and sent it to the bottom corner to make it 4-0. Messi had not been able to score another penalty against Levante in their first match this season, so the player from Rosario earned a little payback.

Messi's goals surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo's total this season, considering every competition. While he still trails for La Liga's "Pichichi", the Argentinian scored his 37th goal this year, while the Portuguese striker has scored 36 times.
