Rafael Van der Vaart said it all. The Real Madrid midfielder is unsure about his future in Spain; he now sees Manchester United and English Premier League football as the best destination to continue his career as a player.

Real Madrid's Rafael Van der VaartRafael Van der Vaart revealed that Manchester United were tempting him as he explained in an interview with the Daily Express. The 27-year-old Dutch star declared:

“I could never play for another club in Spain. The truth is that, if you are leaving Real Madrid, there is only one club you can join that isn’t a step down; and that is Manchester United.

“They are a huge club and if the reported interest they have in me turns out to be true, then I’d really have to sit down and listen.”

As he continued to explain how he considered a move from Real Madrid in La Liga to Manchester United in the English Premier League, Rafael Van der Vaart stated:

“If Manchester Untied could offer me first team football with the situation as it is at Madrid, it would be very hard to turn it down. Alex Ferguson is a great coach, and I’d never think about joining a team where I didn’t believe I could win things. So, all of a sudden, that limits your choices.

“At Manchester United, you know success is likely. That’s a big factor for me at this stage of my career. If [Real Madrid Coach] Jose Mourinho makes it clear that I won’t play much, I see my future in English football.”

Last season, Rafael Van der Vaart had to endure the fate of gaining no silverware despite all the efforts that Real Madrid put throughout their 2009/2010 campaign. He has appeared for Real Madrid over 50 times only since joining the club in 2008 and can count 11 goals for Los Blancos. Will Manchester United help Rafael Van der Vaart fulfill his dream of playing in the English Premier League for a top side?
